Beatriz de los Mozos didn’t come from the footwear industry. Nor from fashion—at least not in the conventional sense. She studied Business Administration, worked in consulting, and traveled halfway around the world before realizing what she truly wanted was much closer to home: in Elche, the cradle of Spanish footwear.
In 2017, with a clear idea and no instruction manual, she founded Flabelus. The premise was simple yet ambitious: to bring back the know-how of local artisans and translate it into a contemporary language. Handmade shoes, crafted with premium materials, designed for women who want more than just following trends.
For me, luxury isn’t in the price or the logo. It’s in the process—in the hands that make each pair—and in choosing to do things properly, even if it takes more time.
What started as a small shared workshop has become this 1,200-square-meter factory where a growing team works today. Beatriz remains involved in every collection, from the first sketch to the final quality check. Her office sits on the factory floor, between the sound of sewing machines and the scent of freshly cut leather.
Flabelus has been worn by women in more than thirty countries, has collaborated with international brands, and has been recognized for its commitment to local and sustainable production. But when you ask Beatriz about success, she always returns to the beginning: that intuition that it was worth doing things differently.

Each area has a specific role within the manufacturing process. From material storage to handwork stations, the factory is organized to keep the flow efficient and the result consistent.

Each pair of Flabelus goes through a carefully controlled, hands-on process inside our factory. Design, cutting, assembly, and finishing happen in a real environment—with real people and real decisions.
Cutting is done using in-house patterns, with careful attention to each piece to ensure consistency and efficient use of materials.
Assembly is done by hand, joining each component precisely to ensure durability and comfort.
Each pair goes through a final inspection where finishing, fit, and quality are reviewed before leaving the factory.
